Why We Go Back on Our Promises To Ourselves

Have you ever been trying to change a habit like eat less sugar or drink less wine and you’ve got yourself a nice plan thinking “Today I will NOT have sugar. I will be strong.” 

 

And then somewhere along the way your brain sneaks in a thought like, “some chocolate would be really great right now.” or “I just want something sweet” or maybe it’s even that the sugar is there in front of you like in the candy bowl at the office, and you feel like you’re mentally holding on by your fingernails. 

 

You think to yourself, “What is wrong with me that I make a promise to myself and then I want to go back on it at the first moment of temptation?”

 

Today we’re going to talk about it’s not your fault that you want to go back on your word to yourself and how to look at that whole situation a little differently.
